Visit USA UK Media Awards 2024 – Call for Entries
Deadline – 1 April 2024
Entries are now open for the Visit USA Media Awards; celebrating the year’s finest storytelling about travel to, in and around the USA.
This year, we have 11 categories on offer for you to nominate your work.

- National Newspaper Print Feature – must appear in print first and then digitally
- Online / Digital Feature – must appear only in digital format
- Regional Press
- Broadcast TV
- Broadcast Audible including radio, podcasts
- Consumer Magazine
- Consumer Travel Publication Feature
- Photographic Feature

- Trade Publication Feature
- Rising Star – must be under 30 as at midnight on 29 Feb 2024
The Visit USA Travel Writer of the Year 2024 Award is The following are selected from a short list of candidates chosen by the judges:, having reviewed the entries received in all award categories.
The Sponsor's Award for 2024 is selected from a short list of candidates chosen by the sponsors on articles across their state only.
Articles must have been published between 1 March 2023 and 29 February 2024 inclusive.
Please also note category specific criteria on some awards.

Articles must appear in print first and then on digital platforms, or exclusively in print.
- Online / Digital Feature
Articles must appear only in digital format to qualify
- Regional Press
Please note that Metro and Scottish publications count as National Press
- Broadcast TV
This category is also open to paid for campaigns. Entries can be on streaming services, YouTube etc. Please provide a link for judges to be able to review the content.
- Broadcast Audible including radio, podcasts
This category is also open to paid for editorial campaigns on radio and podcasts. Please provide a link for judges to be able to review the content.
- Consumer Magazine
- Consumer Travel Publication Feature
This category is for specialist consumer travel publications in print and online.
- Photographic Feature
- Social Media including blogs and metrics
- This category is open to bloggers and social media content creators who have helped to promote the USA through their channels in the past 12 months.
- Whilst you are welcome to submit single posts, we would love to see how you documented your entire trip across multiple channels, and invite you to provide annotation and results (impressions, engagement, conversion), as you see fit.
- We recommend providing this as one report type document (with links to content) then uploaded as a PDF.
- Trade Publication Feature
This category is for specialist travel trade publications in print and online.
- Rising Star
Entrants must be under 30 as at midnight on 29 Feb 2024. Please submit a feature or piece of content produced on the USA in the last 12 months.
ENTRY FORMAT
To submit your entry go to visitusamediaawards.com complete the entry form.
EACH ENTRY MUST BE UPLOADED INDIVIDUALLY AND PDF FILES MUST BE UPLOADED IN THEIR PUBLISHED FORMAT.
WE CANNOT ACCEPT ENTRIES BY POST OR EMAIL.
DEADLINE 1 April 2024 0900hrs
The small print:
All articles and features MUST have been published or transmitted between 1 March 2023 and 29 February 2024 inclusive in any UK newspaper or magazine, on UK television or radio, or on the internet via a UK platform, authored by a UK journalist and be recognised as editorial content rather than paid for advertorial.
The main subject of the feature should be travel to or within the USA. The article should be informative and accurate, should portray the USA as a holiday destination, and should mention at least one Visit USA Member.

A list of the judges is available from Visit USA (UK) website. The judges’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
Finalists in each category will be announced on www.visitusa.org.uk/media on 16 May 2024 at 0900hrs
The awards will be announced at the annual Visit USA Media Marketplace and Awards event on 18 July, 2024 in London. Full details will follow.
